This work/life enhancement supports best practices regarding maternal and child well-being. It offers a privacy screen to accommodate two users at a time upon mutual agreement, a dedicated lactation room refrigerator, and is available on a first come, first serve basis. The Early Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar is a three and a half-day program designed for women at the assistant professor or instructor level.
The program goal is to provide an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed to follow the path to leadership in academic medicine. Topics covered span from strategic communication skills to negotiation to other leadership topics. Small-group sessions focus on mentoring participants in career building skills in narrative and CV development. The seminar faculty are chosen for their demonstrated leadership abilities from various schools in the United States and Canada and offer knowledge, inspiration and valuable career advice.
The seminar is targeted at physicians and Ph.D. scientists holding medical school appointments and considering leadership positions within their discipline, department or institution.
The online application period will be from Wednesday, February 27, 2013 to Monday, April 1, 2013.
